Super Duper Sumos is a 26-episode animated series from DIC Entertainment, at that time, a division of DISNEY.
The show debuted on the BBC, where it became the highest rated children’s show in the UK in October of 2001.
Sumos would go on over the next two years to also become the number 1 children’s show in Brazil, France and Italy.
Super Duper Sumos also had successful runs on ORF in Austria, LUK International in Spain, the Disney Channel in France and on KIKA in Germany.
In the United States the show debuted on Nickelodeon in 2002 and was an immediate success, spawning video games, toys and multiple DVD deals.
The series is now distributed by the leading Canadian Studio, DHX Media.
